After the previous discovery of MgC 3 N and 4 H in IRC +10216, a deeper Q -band (31.0–50.3 GHz) integration on this source had revealed two additional series harmonically related doublets that we assigned basis quantum mechanical calculations to larger radicals 5 6 H. The results presented here extend confirm magnesium-bearing molecules +10216. We derived column densities (4.7 ± 1.3) × 10 12 for (2.0 0.9) 13 H, which imply N/MgC = 0.5 H/MgC 0.9. Therefore, are present with not so different from those immediately shorter analogs. synthesis these large magnesium cyanides acetylides +10216 can be explained their counterparts by two-step process initiated radiative association Mg + cyanopolyynes polyynes, still quite abundant source, followed dissociative recombination ionic complexes.
